Layout of the Month

This month’s layout:Multi-Scale Extravaganza in a small space,

What You’ll Need:One Bachmann “Spectrum” HO-Scale Explorer Trainset, One Lionel O-Scale Starter Set plus 4 extra pieces of standard straight track and 2 half size track pieces (see Lionel Track Catalogue)One Bachmann N-Scale Empire Builder starter set, 2 sawhorses, 1 Large piece of Birch Ply-wood, Enough grass green felt to cover ply-wood, Trees, buildings, as much as you need to establish the setting of your choice

Let’s get started, staple-gun the green felt to the ply-wood, and set the ply-wood on-top of the sawhorses the sawhorses (the sawhorses act as low maintenance bench work). Now you have somewhere to put your layout, unpack the Lionel Starter Set and assemble atop the benchwork. After that, add the explorer layout and place it inside the oval made by the Lionel set. Finally place the empire builder set lengthwise in the Lionel layout area not taken up by the HO set.Now that the track is in place all you have to do is place some building and trees amidst the track, we recommend a carnival scene near the N-scale area, the N-scale train being a Kiddie ride. Inside the HO oval is were Trainboy placed his city, complete with a main street and light-up train shop. Happy Railroading!
